Report on the GTI Consortium Symposium 2023!

On February 28, 2024, the "GTI Consortium Symposium 2023" was held. This year's symposium was held at the same time as the South East Asia Technical University Consortium Symposium(SEATUC), which has been operated by Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) since 2006.

Theme

International Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration for Human Resource Development

Outline

Under the theme of "Initiatives for Human Resource Development through Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration," the symposium publicized the concept of the GTI Consortium, which aims to strengthen and accelerate international industry-academia-government collaboration to foster global science and engineering human resources and create innovation.

After an opening address by Akito Takasaki, Vice President of SIT, Ms. Kayo Matsumoto, Director, Technical Cooperation Division, Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, gave the guest address.

Next, Mr. Tomonari Yashiro, President of Tokyo City University, Mr. Shinichiro Ito, President of Kogakuin University, Mr. Baorong Ni, Vice President of Fukuoka Institute of Technology, and the advisory members of the GTI Consortium were introduced.

Mr. Satoshi Nagata, 6G Network Innovation Department Senior Manager, NTT DOCOMO, Inc. was invited to deliver the keynote speech, introducing his approach to next-generation technologies. After that, case report 1 was presented by Mr. Taisei Nishii, a student of SIT, and Mr. Nattapas Khumsuprom, a student of Kasetsart University (Thailand), case report 2 by Prof. Ken Judai and Ms. Saika Ogino, Nihon University College of Humanities and Science, and case report 3 by Mr. Kazuhisa Ogawa, Director of the Board, The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships and Mr. Seiji Komori, CEO of ARS Japan, Inc.

In his closing remarks, Jun Yamada, President of SIT and representative of the GTI Consortium, expressed his gratitude to all participants and expressed his hopes for the further revitalization of the GTI Consortium's activities and asked for their cooperation.

The symposium was held both in person and online, and was well attended.
